General Information:
High Power Rifle competition is a test of a shooter’s ability to fire accurately from various positions and at different distances. Basic needs include:

A center fire, magazine fed, rifle capable of shooting to 600 yards equipped with a sling
Shooting Mat
Shooting stool, bag, or cart for storing shooting gear
Minimum of 2 Magazines, preferably 4
88 rounds (minimum) of ammunition, 100 rounds suggested
Hearing and Eye Protection

If you are interested in learning more about High Power Rifle Competition, please plan to attend a match. Bring your equipment if you have any and shoot along with us. Please let a Match Director know it's your first time, and we’ll make sure to pair you up with an experienced shooter to help guide you throughout the day.

If you prefer to come and observe, you’re welcome to join us for that as well. PGC High Power matches are open to the general public and we encourage all those interested to come and learn.

Course of Fire:
The standard course of fire for PGC High Power matches is what is known as the Regional Match Course (NRA) or High Power Rifle Standard Course (CMP) and is an 80-shot course of fire as outlined below.

Note: In the event of inclement weather, the Match Director may elect to adjust the course of fire in such a manner as to conduct the match entirely from the covered firing line. In such an event, prior notice will be given if possible.

Targets:
PGC utilizes the KTS Electronic Target System for all High Power Matches. Tablets are provided, and no pit duty is required.

Schedule and Times:
PGC High Power matches are held every 4^th Saturday, with the exception of July. There is no High Power Match scheduled for July of every year due to the conflict with the National Matches at Camp Perry, OH.***

***October is the South Carolina State Championship, which will be an 800 Agg. Regional Match Course on Saturday, followed by a 500 Agg. EIC/Leg Match on Sunday.

For all High Power Matches, the front gate will be open no later than 7:45AM and registration will open at 8:00AM for all competitors. Registration will close at 8:45AM. Safety brief and competitor instructions will be conducted at approximately 8:50AM and firing will commence at 9:00AM.

***Generally matches are completed by 1:00PM or earlier, but larger matches requiring 3 or 4 relays may take longer.

Registration and Fees:
Pre-registration is not necessary and all registration and squadding will be conducted at the covered firing area before proceeding to the 200 yard line. Fees for the match are $20.00 per shooter and FREE for all Junior Shooters.

Rules and Affiliation:
PGC hosts both CMP and NRA registered matches and every match will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the sanctioning body. Please review the current High Power rules for both the NRA and CMP below.
